ASHN provides long-term housing for asylum seekers. Housing is provided in a group-home in Baltimore. Asylum seekers have a private bedroom along with communal kitchen and living area.
ASHN is not an emergency shelter and cannot provide immediate housing. To receive housing, asylum seekers must first complete an application process and be accepted as ASHN clients.
To become an ASHN client, an asylum seeker must first become a client of The Asylee Women’s Enterprise (AWE), www.asyleewomen.org, an organization in Baltimore that provides a separate set pf services for asylum seekers (primarily women, but also men). The asylum seeker should contact AWE and apply to become a joint AWE & ASHN client.
ASHN Clients are expected to abide by the rules of the group-house in which ASHN houses its clients. House expectations will be reviewed with potential clients as part of the interview process. Clients are also expected to abide by the policies and rules of AWE. See www.asyleewomen.org for details.
