Joann Hunsberger has been singing her heart out since she was a child. Her mother refused to pay for any more piano lessons when Joann refused to practice, and instead started her with voice lessons. And there was no looking back. The emphasis in her music has always been on the importance of music in the church. She started to lead congregational singing at her Mennonite church at age 12 and eventually became the Choir Director at Souderton Mennonite Church, where she led the adult and children’s choirs. Her love of music stems from the music of the church, and her recital is entitled “Singing her faith.” Joann will sing her spiritual heart songs, starting with Bach and Mozart and ending with recital versions of American hymns and spirituals.

Accompanying Joann Hunsberger is Kathryn Harsha.

Kathryn Harsha completed her Bachelors in Piano Performance from Bluffton University in Ohio, and her Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Kathryn has been the Music Director of the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center’s Sing Out! benefit since 2002, which has raised more than a million dollars for the center. Ms. Harsha has served as the Executive Director of the Opus Community Music School from 2014-2018.

Kathryn spends as much time as possible eating chocolate, gardening, taking photos, and traveling with her husband Tom and children, Alexandra and Christian.
